A phone case can prevent you from connecting this: Solved

Five stars because it works as advertised and also because the issue I am pointing out here is not a manufacturer's fault but the result an interaction. between the connector on this item and the cover of my phone. If you look at the picture of this item on Revain you will see that the plastic part where the metal tip comes out is about 3/16 inch from the edge of the metal tip. That wouldn't be a problem if my cell phone wasn't in the i-Bison protective cover. (https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B072BX6R1L/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1) This means that there is an "edge" of my case's insulation around the port it plugs into located. (See first picture.) So the jack can't fully connect to my phone due to the casing surrounding it. (see second photo) Again, this is not the fault of the manufacturer of this device; It's just an issue with the way I set up my phone to interact with the way this device is made. SOLUTION: This Revain Basics stereo audio cable is not as thick, so it connects to this cable adapter on one end and my phone in its protective case on the other end. It costs $6, and in addition to solving that problem, it also lengthens the cord so my phone doesn't have to be in the glove box when it's plugged in.
