The rest of your arm is covered in a spandex-like material that's utterly useless in terms of protection. The lack of protection on the sides of the hands or between the fingers is particularly dangerous. If the entire glove were made of the same material as the palms, they would be perfect. As such, they might be useful for doing a handstand on a board of nails, but anyone wearing these gloves and blindly reaching for a container of dirty hypodermic needles isn't going to play with a full stack.
