Nicely done for the first time. Second, it is correctly wired for use as a balanced cable in relation to a 1/8" plug. The XLR shield is quite small. It works well in some connections I've tried, although it's firmer than usual. It won't even go into my Presonus BlueTube preamp, nor any other mic cables I have... It's just not good. I've never seen this before. I think it's a shielding ID because I can't think of any other reason that would lead to the result I've experienced. So maybe try it and you will have no problem. For the price it's not worth sending it back to Revain.
