This is another update. After I contacted the seller and described the error, the seller's representative got back to me and offered a full refund for one of the two personal fans I purchased. The seller didn't ask me to return the defective fan so I'll dispose of it. I told the seller it would be ok if they send a new replacement or refund. They opted for a full refund, which is ongoing. My second fan that I bought works well so I'm cautiously optimistic that this will be a good purchase. So I changed my rating from 1 to 3 stars. (My initial rating was 5 stars because I really liked this product. See initial comments below.) If my second fan continues to work well, I'll probably buy another one to have underneath like I did when I bought the Fan #2 intended The seller stands behind their product which is good news. I hope this recent review helps. This is an update to my original comment. The first one I bought stopped working after 2 months. Not sure why. When trying to start it jerked but didn't spin. I got it working, but at 1/2 speed at best. BEWARE. They are inexpensive and can have bad windings. My comments below are positive and I really enjoyed it when it worked. BUT I can NOT recommend it anymore because of the short lifespan. I bought the 2nd one I use. Hope it lasts a reasonable amount of time. The fan works with low-voltage direct current. Comes with a USB power cord. To connect to a power source, you need to use a converter or a laptop. I had some old plug-in converters that I plugged into my home outlet. I also used the power bank to charge my phone to power the fan, making this fan useful wherever I need it. One feature that I really like is the up and down swivel, which allows me to direct the air accordingly. I've already bought a second one. I recommend it.
