This blanket is normal. I would have preferred a different controller as last year I had several blankets with the exact same controller which didn't last very long but suddenly wouldn't turn on after a few months. Hope this one makes it better. The duvet itself is very warm. It's not as fast as the other one I've tried right before, but you can feel the heat for a few minutes and then it dies down. Last year I liked how it worked because it was simple and easy to use in the middle of the night. I don't know if I like faux fur. I feel like my fluffy gray cat is sitting on my lap, but that's enough. This winter I was more concerned with staying warm than with my looks. Underneath, he looks more like a Sherpa who's lying on his lap or on top anyway.
