I inherited several thousand 35mm slides. I need to check them out to see which ones I want to digitally scan. This product is the most economical answer I could find and very easy to use. The screen is bigger than I thought but still small. Some of the slides I look at need to be scanned and enlarged because I couldn't see the details, but that's fine because I'm on a family photo treasure hunt. It comes with a USB plug or you can use your own batteries to power it on conveniently. It's quite bright, although sometimes I wish it was a little brighter. No big deal, just personal preference. You simply insert the slide into the slot at the top and look at it in the viewer. You then press a button on the side to toss it onto the bottom tray when you're done. super easy. Very low tech and simple. A few slides hung, but they hardly trembled, they could slip through. It's a slide viewer and it doesn't feel good trying to view slides and take photos with your phone only to blow them up. Use a product designed to scan for this type of project. It's like a big single window viewmaster and worth the price for a project like mine where I'm trying to go through the slides to see which ones I want to scan.
