It is reliable. All round great purchase. My daughter loves them and they sound almost as good as my Sony studios. A bit of EQ magic and the initial but slightly muddy tones just get washed out. Great for general listening, not sure how they fare as recording monitors / studio playback but for the price you can't go wrong. I have many Neewer photo and audio products that have helped me a lot. So the Neewer brand and price were part of my decision to make this purchase.
