My 8 year old LOVES this lamp! He is autistic so I was looking for something that would help calm him down and also provide light at night. It was the perfect purchase! He also likes to stare at the jellyfish for a long time, even if he's not upset and at night it turns off after 4 hours, which is enough for him to fall asleep, but then I know it won't work all night. Any of her friends who come by always think that's the coolest thing. MUCH more fun than a "regular" night light! We soaked it in dish soap as recommended, but it still took a few days for the fish to "swim" normally, but I think the soaking definitely affects the time it lasts.
