They don't fit 100% exactly but are very close. I didn't feel the need to trim anything, I have a steady hand and if you have patience and align them as accurately as possible it's pretty much right with the outline of the controller. I didn't use them all, I didn't want the buttons to cover the X, Y, A and B buttons but it's really nice to have them on the top 4 L and R buttons and especially on the back of the controller . It doesn't smell, they stick very well. I used the blow dryer on high for about a minute to complete the installation as recommended in the video which was also extremely helpful in showing you where and how to do it. Will definitely be buying for future controllers!
