I love fun colorful lights and they are great! This is a standard fit, just like any lightbulb you will find in a store. I love that it runs on electricity so you don't have to worry about batteries. The first thing I tried was a floor lamp and I was amazed at how far the light traveled! The colors were visible in both my living room and dining room. (see photos) I also tried this on a lamp without a shade and it turned out some really cool patterns on the adjacent wall. Of course, with a shadow, the effect is much more subtle and a nice pattern forms on the shadow. Finally, I tried it on a recessed ceiling light. It was the subtlest, like a hidden surprise that you don't notice until you're sitting next to it. Can't wait to use this when I'm having fun! I'm sure this will be the start of a conversation. The only minor downside is a slight noise from the motor when spinning, but even soft music will drown that out. You really have to pay attention to hear it. I highly recommend putting on the lights for the party for anyone who is entertaining at home and wants to have fun!
