I ordered a set of 5 cables in 1ft, 3ft, 7ft and 10ft to connect devices in my rewire the house. The FireTV is on top and whenever I plugged in an ethernet cable (an old cable I had laying around) the FireTV would freeze and eventually reboot. I debugged the problem and it was a bad ethernet cable. So I've decided that once and for all I'm going to switch all the wiring in the house to high quality shielded Cat 6a cable. Doesn't matter! I haven't realized it until now. But some of my devices transfer files much faster now. I have a Plex server and when transferring large MKV files I could never get to 100MB/s but now with these new cables there is no problem getting to 106MB/s so it was on all the time crappy cables. noise and interference. I also ran the iperf test and got very close to the theoretical maximum GigE throughput on the three hops of the GigE switches in my house: (PC -> GigE switch in the office -> GigE switch in the top wiring closet -> GigE switch in the media room -> Plex Server) I am very happy with these cables!
