I bought myself a replacement Mi Band 3, I wanted to try switching to a more "adult" device. As a result, I realized that smart watches cannot be considered as an upgrade or an alternative to a bracelet. I wore the bracelet for the last 4 years (I went through the entire line of Mi Band models), took it off every couple of weeks for charging, and so I felt like a single whole with it. All notifications are only on the bracelet, the alarm is there too. I thought that it would be about the same with the watch, but because of their size and life time, you have to take them off at night, so an alarm clock in the form of vibration alone is no longer an option. I do not use sensors, the brightness is almost at a minimum, the screen turns on on demand. Charging in this mode is enough for 2.5-3 days, but itβs still uncomfortable to sleep in them, and you can charge your wife in the eye, this, after all, is not a weightless plastic bracelet in a rubber strap. The most depressing thing is that despite the seemingly limitless potential, everything is very bad with the software. There is little software, its ratings are very low. Of integration with smart home systems, only Samsung's SmartThings app, which, for the most part, is pretty useless. Maximum - turn the volume on the TV and turn it off. Because I have xiaomi smart home + integration with Alice - it turns out that there are no normal ways to interact with it. If something will work out in the end, then only through fierce crutches. As a result, "smart" watches are not so smart, if we talk about them not as sports paraphernalia, but as a potential participant in the smart home infrastructure, etc. I would not take them if I already had a similar experience of using them.
