I read reviews and looked at the size chart but had no idea what size to go for. My daughter was wearing a large unpadded training bra and she needed more coverage so I was looking for a good price as we will be back for sure next year. (Crazy Lingerie Prices) Anyway, I thought it would be that easy to return an item so I decided to give it a try. I have a backpack with a cat and adjustable straps. My daughter is 10 and wears a 12-14 top and the medium size fits her perfectly without stretching the straps. Now it really seemed a bit short as if if it was more developed it would be over the top and if it did the large size might be too big as the band is not adjustable. These are super soft. I like that the padding doesn't fall out. I can't speak for other styles but hope this helps someone
