We ordered this for our Maltipoo as it is one of the few coats that will keep a dog's stomach dry. Most are open at the bottom. It does a great job. It's windproof and has a thin fleece lining so I'm not sure how good it will be in a downpour. So far it's going well in light rain. Our dog is very low off the ground so the wet tall grass below gets wet even after it rains. For this reason we bought it more often. Ours was golden and definitely not mustard yellow as advertised. We didn't care. It probably looks better than the intrusive yellow coat. We have a fleece dog sweater for cold weather, but this one can be even better on windy days. This raincoat also has an opening at the back to accommodate a collar or harness. Most others are not. Adjustable leg stretchers are also great for dogs with short legs. If you don't need the hood, take it off as well. We are 100% satisfied with that.
