Bought to replace a slightly different teapot where the lid latch no longer works. The wands are identical (from the same manufacturer) so only the design of the top of the kettle has changed. I like this one better - it looks good on the counter, the handle is actually more comfortable with a nice curve and the glass goes all the way to the top. The design of the lid is also slightly different so we'll see if that holds up - it's common with this type of kettle that the heat will warp the plastic lid and eventually fail to close. It's a great value though, so I don't mind having to replace something more often than if I was spending $50 or more (especially since the more expensive ones seem to have the same issues).
