I used to have cable tv and internet but due to exorbitant cable tv prices and charges I cut the cable and only had internet. Unfortunately, I ended up with an unsightly coax splitter in my room. I bought this to replace a splitter with a direct line to a box outside my home and it worked great. Added bonus: The splitter in my room (which was never moved or exposed to any elements) was obviously defective. After replacing the splitter with a direct connection, my input power dropped from 59dB/mV to 44dB/mV (the splitter was only designed to add 6dB, not 15dB). My connection is also much more stable.
