My first reaction is positive

I spend a lot of time at a computer keyboard and do a lot of gardening and this bandage can do both printing and gardening which I can't say about any other splints or braces I've tried. Firstly, I'm not sure if De Quervain is my problem, but I have severe pain in the bottom of my right thumb (dominant hand), so I suspect it's arthritis. I tried this hand test I found online and my wrist didn't hurt, but my thumb just above my wrist definitely hurt. Dryer like socks. I chose a medium size based on my wrist size and decided that any compression would be better than none. When I first put them on I thought they were too big, but after wearing them for a while they seem to be just right. At first I thought the thumb grip was too loose, but after washing my hands and rubbing the area with good quality coconut oil before putting the brace back on, I was able to pull and move the brace. some, so it compresses what I need most. Based on this post from a woman whose thumb crease was inflamed and fractured, I pulled the end of the bandage up my thumb so the bandage was over the crease and that also seemed to help push and pull harder on the thumb. The back is big to keep it straight. I'm allergic to latex and still haven't stopped wearing these braces so I'm guessing it's silicone and not latex. After wearing the corset without coconut oil on my skin for the first 15 minutes, I didn't notice much of a temperature change, but when I rubbed some coconut oil in, I felt the area under the corset warm up a bit, which is very pretty. . It remains to be seen how my skin will react over time. I will wear it for 24 hours and see how it feels and if I have any negative effects I will come back and post them. But so far so good. UPDATE: No negative effects. This works for me.
