I bought these along with some bamboo brushes to end the use of so many single use plastic items. They seem to be just as good as the plastic coated ones I've used and I feel better because there's one less tiny thing that's going to get out of my hand to take up hundreds or hundreds of landfills or ocean space, thousands of years . After seeing their ads, my head literally buzzed and I started searching for biodegradable items that would replace the everyday plastic items I've been using for years without giving a thought to where they end up. They are packed in a paper box, not plastic wrap, and are packed very tightly in a cardboard box. They're a bit stiff when new and don't have an odor because they're not infused with any type of oil or plasticizer like some of the big brands. Once you wet them they will have the texture and flexibility you expect. In general I am satisfied and I have nothing bad to say about it.
