The first set I bought had too many containers which were ridiculously small and cost double what I paid for this set that has decent sized containers. People complain about the difficulty of sealing them and while I can agree that this happens, the solution is pretty simple, even for those losing their fine motor skills. The pads are removable as they are essential for proper cleaning. Therefore, remove them and discard them after use. It is possible to wash trays in a dishwasher or micromachine, but do not do this with children. Just hand wash them to ensure durability. I was dissatisfied with the fact that two separate containers from this set, purchased separately, cost the same as this set. So before you buy, check the dimensions in the kit to make sure you get the right size containers the first time! Overall I am much happier with the cost of this set than the previous set. or individual parts, but basically it is the cost per unit of production, which varies by seller.
