A classic reborn but with modern features

As a radio maniac, there are a few key aspects that I like. Of course, I expect the radio to pick up my favorite stations during the day. This requires selectivity as many FM stations get crowded in the mids and little NPR goes up against a modern salsa giant screaming at 120 decibels! Then there is sensitivity. Let's say I want to listen to a nice AM station in the evening after the locals have turned off the electricity: then sensitivity is key. The J-199 has both, no question. But my mother would probably say: what else does he do? It looks good. It looks like a tube of Grundig from the 1960s that sat on the shelf at the ice cream parlor I went to in high school. We never got to touch the dials and the owner treated them like a princess. What about the setup feeling? Tight, backlash-free and analog dials feel comfortable. Sound? Rich, quiet, clean. Particularities? crap, I almost forgot! TF and USB and you can also record! My favorite feature is Bluetooth. Turned on the computer and he immediately saw the J-199. I started listening to my MP3s as soon as I clicked play. I used AC, but there are two internal battery options, AA and D cell, and neither will break the bank as they only seem to require three volts. I haven't measured the battery life yet, but that doesn't bother me. The only thing that bothers me is the name: how about something nice to go with it? Something less algebraic? Otherwise it sits on my shelf in my office and since my nurses want them I know what I'm getting everyone for Christmas this year (don't worry I'm not that cheap, there are a lot more stockings!). In summary: beautiful, sensitive, powerful, flexible and affordable.
