If you use collar clips, you know the problems that come with them. Over time they will bend and lose their ability to hold the collar securely. This problem does not exist with metal springs. They're made of stainless steel, so they won't get damaged if you forget to wash them. I haven't tried them with magnets that hold them firmly to the shirt. For me that was never a problem. My biggest fear was that they would be heavy and would strain the collar. They don't. They're heavier than plastic, but not so much that you notice. When buying, check your shirts to see how long the pocket will wear, and buy a size that goes past the bottom of the pocket, but not so far that it interferes with the collar folding like it should. . When in doubt, buy a combo pack to have everything ready. One thing: They're metal, and while they're a lot stiffer than plastic, they'll bend, and if they do, it'll be difficult to flatten them perfectly. I don't understand how you could "accidentally" bend them. Definitely a place in your top drawer.
