Reviews on this product say that the bookcase is very weak. I used to struggle with crappy Wal-Mart bookshelves and wasn't really sure if I wanted to mess with crappy bookshelves again. I went ahead and bought it because I needed it and I didn't have the money. I was very surprised to see how sturdy this little bookshelf is. Yes, it's pressed cardboard and the shelves are flimsy. If you want to put heavy stuff on the shelf, then yes, this bookcase is "thin" and you won't like it. But for me, this bookshelf was perfect. It doesn't vibrate or anything. This is exactly what I wanted and I couldn't be happier.
