I have a little headphone fetish and this is the new object of my desire. I've been fascinated (so far) with my 12+ year old Ultimate Ears (designed before the Logitech acquisition), Triple Fi 10 and their three tiny drivers, and have used them along with various full size open and closed designs. but now I'm fully into these Fiio FA7s. The first impression was amazing. The box was big and full of goodies, but best of all, the first thing you saw when you opened the box were these gorgeous headphones. They were beautifully displayed and unwrapped in seconds. If you want to use the default tips, you're done. The cable that comes with it is the right length and of excellent quality. This is the standard 3.5mm unbalanced cable for most devices (balanced options available). Since I bought them with a Shure RMCE-BT2 Bluetooth cable, I replaced the MMCX cable and loved it. The fit was amazing, even with the standard tips (there are quite a few options). The slightly deep seat simply stays in place without undue fatigue or slipping. They're less chunky than the FH7s and more balanced than the UE Triple Fi 10s I've used. The soundproofing is excellent. I also use the Bose Quiet Comfort 35 II at work and they really don't lose out despite being a passive solution. They add a driver to Triple Fi and use a different quad-core setup than the FH7. That's a complete success. Sound is subjective and no one experience is right for everyone, but these are perfect for me. Fast, lively and able to hit all the notes deftly. The FH7s get deeper and sound a bit louder, but they come across as much more alive. I couldn't imagine being happier with headphones. Excellent workmanship, wonderful accessories and divine sound.
