Images of a 90mm/m chicken took about 45 minutes. The movement system has some artifacts. At $200 on sale, this is certainly a good printer kit, but it's not for beginners. I converted it to run a clipper and am planning to do some mods. What's good: The aluminum frame is well made and quite strong. The board can be flashed and has space for extensions. The extruder looks good. the wiring looks fine. The Bad: The design of the extruder hill is really terrible. My second print stuck even though I pushed the bowden tube really hard to make sure it was all the way down. You have to remove the bowden hose to clear the jam, but the bowden connector (black type) is very difficult to remove and I usually have to unscrew it to get lost. You'll bite down hard on the teflon tube, which is fine until you need to pull it out. The pipe runs in the main bracket. This means you have to unscrew the entire hotend to get to the bowden connector. Management is terrible. The hotend supposedly doesn't work, I had a jam, but now it prints fine. It's not just metal, and I doubt standard cooling will work for all metals. The fans are noisy, the Alegra steppers are very noisy, if you turn on the Z-Hop you will probably have a very strong motivation to replace them. There are some really nice big heatsinks on TMC, but the Vref voltage was too high as reported everywhere, I think it was around 1.4V from the factory. Lead screw z LOUD! He squeaks like crazy just when he twists his arm. I smeared some lube on Molly and had to add about 3 times more than I needed. Something seems wrong here. The touch screen sucks and didn't work the first time I turned on the printer. I don't care since I've been using clippers. So, the mods I think are needed for this: 1. Update the stepper motor drivers for E and Z2. Change the hotend attachment system3. Maybe update the hotend. If you only print pla, you should be fine with the building block.4. Clippers5. Bed probe 6. Accelerometer to fix resonances by a clipper.
