We switched to reusable pads because all single use brands, even organic brands, were irritating. (Reusable pads aren't irritating at all, by the way, so check if disposable pads irritate you.) Period Mate Period Mate Reusable Bamboo Charcoal Absorbent Cloth Menstrual Pads with Wet Bag (Pack of 6) (Carnival Rings). We made cloth diapers for my girl when she was a baby, so switching to reusable pads wasn't a big deal. I don't know what most other women who use reusable pads do, but I thought a diaper pail would be ideal and I wanted something much smaller. It's definitely smaller than a regular diaper pail, but still a little larger than I expected/wanted. However, I kept it even though it was bigger than I wanted and so far it's been great. I've slipped a wet elastic diaper bag into Teamoy Reusable Cloth/Dirt Diaper Liner (2-pack), Chevron Gray + Slate and the lid still closes well. When it comes time to clean them I simply put the entire inner bag in the washing machine, dump the pads into the machine and toss the wet bag in, set the machine to soak, normal wash (warm), with an extra rinse cycle afterwards and that's it. works perfectly.
