I used to have a couple of adjustable elastic belts that had metal loops which intertwined to lock, and made a flat front--sort of the same principle as this belt. I like the belt--however mostly use it for everyday wear, which is why I bought it, as I have a flat behind and the low-rise pants (which is about all that is sold these days) just won't stay up. And also, it's not a dressy or attractive accessory and if I were wearing it when I was going out some time, it would need to be hidden by the top I was wearing. I don't feel it was meant to be an accessory that is seen. It works well for how it was intended. My only concern is that the buckle is a very thin plastic, and I suspect that it probably won't last very long. Time will tell. Other than that, it works just fine for the purpose I bought it.
