Before I had Thang I never thought I would really need it. I have used various other things to do what this tool can do. And to tell you the truth, I was glad for the extra because I sewed through the top of the first one. Hahaha! Yes, I got the tool too close to the needle, but it's actually good. At that moment - I realized that I could put the tool right there, right under the presser foot. My feeders need help keeping the topstitching from folding over. I can get the thang to the top and curl it back. I would recommend taking your foot off the gas. I was wrong there. And I needed a new needle and had to apologize to my sewing machine. The great thing about this multipack is that if I lose one to the cat (probably) and maybe break another one (oops), I'll still have enough extra items to share with my best friend. And to be honest, the PINK thang got me a little excited. It's really useful to have more than one thang, especially in multiple colors. If you dive deep into sewing AND watch the show, you lose the tool. If you have a color that contrasts with your fabrics, it will be easier to find. Because of this, I usually use two things. The price is good too.
