**UPDATE 09/21/21** I ended up finding a fourth workaround to the problem I mentioned in my review below. I ran a 25 foot network cable from the router to my laptop. This allowed me to connect the monitor to a USB 3 port (which kills WiFi) and connect to the internet at the same time. It's not elegant, but for those who ran into the same problem, this was the $8 solution that worked like a charm. Now the workstation is working for its intended purpose. But buyer beware, do not use the USB3 slot if you need to connect to WiFi.------------------------------ - - - I bought this to use as a workstation for my kids to do their online assignments for school. Under $200 I wasn't expecting a moon but figured it would suit their needs for now. 4 days worked great. The problem started when I tried to connect an external monitor to it. First I tried to use the mini HDMI connector for the monitor. The problem is that the connection is unstable. It turns itself off with even the slightest impact. As a workaround, I tried getting a VGA to USB adapter to connect the monitor to the USB port. I found that I could only get the full monitor resolution when using a USB 3 port, which I don't think would be a problem. Well, unless you plan to connect to Wi-Fi at the same time. Every time I connect to the USB 3 port, the wifi turns off. So don't plan on using Wi-Fi when plugging anything into a USB 3 port. :-(. This gives me the following options: Have a nice, clear picture on a large monitor, but cannot connect to the internet. Run on a large monitor with a resolution of 800 x 600, but can connect to the internet. Simple using a laptop and forget about any external monitor you might be better off getting one of the chrome books the laptop itself isn't bad but it can't do something as simple as plugging a monitor into it this is a big disappointment I am not sure if i will keep it.
