I had high hopes for these, but no real expectations, considering how overly sensitive my ears are to any material other than solid gold. The earrings themselves are beautiful and sturdy, and the screw backs stay in place well, once you get them on (they are a bit fiddly, but that's to be expected with spherical earring backs). The gold plating is decent quality and didn't fade or rub off at all during the time I wore them. Alas, my sensitive ears still became irritated and I had to remove them (the earrings, not my ears.
