I bought this based on the sound quality reviews because that's what matters most to me. It has one hell of a sound with multiple listening options including custom settings. But yes, you need good headphones, which I take for granted with all these small devices as I can't use headphones. Downloading is a breeze, whether it's syncing playlists or simply dragging and dropping files. I was a little nervous about the barrage of "bad software" reviews over a period of time, but I hoped the problem was solved and bought it - so far so good, two months later. I don't use it for video or radio and probably never will. For a great sounding turntable at a very reasonable price you can't beat it.
