Good but problematic

This device is very well realized, designed, finished, presented and packaged. It is actually a beautiful object to hold and look at. All of this gives it an aura of superiority that, after a few days of use, makes it a bit difficult to accept the fact that it's pretty limited (and sometimes even pretty bad) among the uses it's designed for. 1 . Belt attachment - backpacks, camera straps, etc. The binding looks "coolest" in the photos: chest height on the shoulder strap. But there are also serious disadvantages that severely limit the actual use. Number one is WEIGHT: Your backpack should always be heavier than your camera. Otherwise, the weight of the camera will pull the backpack up and the camera will slide down your stomach. (Note: This only happens on some models or with a strap that allows the pack to ride up the back. Some packs have straps that touch the neck and partially prevent this. My Osprey pack has one, but it still stretches around my neck and definitely doesn't look "cool".) A backpack with a waist strap holding them in place probably prevents this to some degree. But someone with a light camera backpack like me won't be able to enjoy the mount once they start walking. I also tried using a clip in the chest area of my BlackRapid harness so I could set up landscape shots. Touch camera while the strap hung my full frame telephoto lens. However, each time the gimbal camera is raised to record, the counterweight is removed, forcing the clip-mounted camera to pull the entire strap across the belly. belt attachment. This is probably the best performance range of the device. At some point, though, you'll need a belt specifically for the device, even if your pants have a built-in inner belt like many activewear jogging pants do today. It can be surprisingly annoying to buy a strap or remember to bring one, as well as screwing and unscrewing the device every time you remove the strap. However, this is about as close as a clip can get to full gratification. Unfortunately I bought it mainly for use on the shoulder strap. General observations: quite a bit of rattling, even when the camera and plate are firmly clamped. I would estimate 10 to 8 inches in various directions which gives an overall "free" feel unlike some of my tripod mounts. Is this the case when "looks better than it works"? Not really. But it doesn't work as well as it looks, at least in the current version. **UPDATE** I have found a prime use for it and it is to hang my 100-400GM/a6300 combo on the passenger seat. during driving. That way I can stop and release it immediately if I encounter wildlife visible from the road or an interesting traffic accident.
