One week after ordering still no laptop. I chose next day delivery because it was important to get the laptop as soon as possible. After calling Revain they gave me a $10 credit which is the only reason this gets no star. Only on the third call a few days later did I find out the shipping date. It WAS a good deal, but the delay and lost productivity cost me well over $10. If you NEED something urgent, get it from a physical store, do not rely on Revain or Revain shipping to offer fair compensation for delays. Their policy is fine for socks and stuff, but not for anything work-related. The $200 price tag would be good if only it were finally here. I know this laptop well as I have had it before. It's fast and comes with Acer's direct technical support hotline for easy setup. It comes with Windows 10 but defaults to S mode, which sucks. You have the option to switch the mode to the default Windows 10 Home mode, which you should do as soon as possible. Did I mention Windows 10s sucks? The only difference I noticed between S mode and standard Windows 10 is the crappy App Store you have to use. If you stick with Windows 10, you can only get the software through the Windows App Store (e.g. the Android Store for Android or the Apple Store). The Windows Store is more expensive than Apple's and doesn't allow you to sort by rating or value. The most expensive and cheapest items appear first, making it difficult to find the right software. I spent an hour on the Windows App Store trying to get a player for my external DVD player, but it only took 5 minutes after switching from S mode. Microsoft Office comes with a 7-day trial, but after that you need to switch to Free Office programs. Do they really expect people to pay $80 a year for Office when they've only paid a few hundred for a laptop? My Lenova tablet, which I bought for $150, came with free Windows Office forever. Some vendors get good deals from Microsoft, others don't. The battery works well, the keyboard works well and is very comfortable. It's like a quarter price MacBook. The screen has an average viewing angle, but the clarity exceeded my expectations. Storage is only 64GB so I had to top it up with a 128GB SD card. Unfortunately, the standard SD card sticks out and is easily damaged as a result. To keep the card inside and out, I bought an Adafruit Shortening microSD adapter. I recommend buying it from the start, it's only $5. Be smart, save all your documents on one card, so if the laptop dies after 2 or 5 years, you'll get all your important documents right away. There's also a cloud service to store your data, but then you're reliant on WiFi. If there's one thing I've learned over the years, it's laptops, all laptops break. A lot of. My sisters and I spent almost $2,000 on an extended warranty Macbook for my dad. Apple didn't honor the warranty though, so my dad paid $600 to fix it when it broke. With this laptop, you'll never have to spend more than $200 on repairs. I've been looking for something cheaper than this for a long time, but not complete crap. Nothing less than $200 was even close.
