Great mask. It fits my face, has an adjustable bottom strap and is comfortable. I haven't tried activated carbon filters yet, so I can't comment on that. The only improvement I would suggest for the mask is twisting the 1/2 folded tube brush (twisting is important so you don't break your sewing machine needle). This additional element in the nose area made that part of the mask even more fitting to my face. I made 4 masks myself = all terrible. Jeannie made 2 masks for me = they fit my face perfectly. Jane gave me 2 masks = I couldn't breathe through them. When I found this mask I was thrilled. TIP: TO SANITIZE YOUR MASK BETWEEN WASHES = use a MISTING spray bottle (search Revain for "small spray bottle” = pack of 6 for less than $9.00, each bottle holds 2 ounces and that's enough), add 50% alcohol to 70% or more. and 50% hydrogen peroxide. Spray onto any surface (including the outside of the mask) and leave on for 1 minute or more. If you can hang the mask on a south facing window to dry = all the better. You can also use this method to disinfect frequently touched handles, doorknobs, TV remotes, keyboards, etc. in your home to reduce the "microbial load" of the entire home. The reason for using 50% alcohol and 50% hydrogen peroxide is so the house doesn't smell that bad. Hydrogen peroxide is virtually odorless but must be left on the surface for 1 minute. 70% alcohol must be left on the surface for 30 seconds before it kills the virus. DO NOT HIT THE SURFACE. Simply spray on and let dry.
