Review on JBL Flip Bluetooth Connection Black by Jason Franco

The JBL Flip Portable is a good, heavyweight little speaker. It's about the size of a Budweiser Tall-Boy. Pros: * Easy connection via Bluetooth. I use it with an iPhone 5s and an iPad 3. It also pairs well with my wife's Macbook Pro.* Long battery life. When grilling, etc., I've never run out. The battery lasts several hours*. Loud enough for a small speaker system. The speaker produces enough volume to fill my living room without distortion. * The blue color is beautiful * Can be positioned both horizontally as shown in the picture and standing upright. Cons: * Below the 50MHz threshold, the device doesn't have much bass. This is to be expected when the physical dimensions of the internal speakers are around 2 inches each. Larger speakers are required for bass.* Despite having two speakers, there isn't much stereo separation in the sound. This is also a common problem with most small electronic devices/speakers that are in the same case. * Bluetooth turns off at about 30 feet away. * If you have not used the device, you must physically turn it on before pairing. with your device. I would think it really does save battery life, but I'd rather not mess with both objects to pair. All in all, the Flip is a good portable speaker for small parties or for making music on the go.
