It's very hard to spend that much money on a vacuum cleaner that doesn't spend a whole year cleaning the house while you read a book. After my Kenmore died, my neighbor recommended me this gift that she requested for her wedding 15 years ago (okay, best at the time). I grabbed my Kindle and winced as I hit buy. She was there when it arrived, I sucked first then she had to use it. I have to say the design is impressive. The hose is made of a heavier material than any other vacuum I've owned. The telescopic rod is also robust and infinitely adjustable. The rotation is smooth, the canister does not twist, turn over or fall. There are 6 speeds, you can set the lighted head to auto and it adjusts between carpet and bare floor; It's a kick. Long cord so you don't have to keep moving the plug. Did I mention it's quiet? Yes, you can hear the phone ringing while cleaning. Oh, and it's lighter than any Kenmores I've had (this is from a woman over half a century old). And most importantly, the suction power is EXCELLENT! cat fur? No problem! Problems with old house dust? Successful Is it worth buying 2 other vacuum cleaners? Never thought I'd say oh yeah Yes. Yes, that's right. August 29, 2016: I can't believe I still love vacuuming. My husband rolled his eyes thinking it couldn't get any better than say 3 kenmores were using it and was very impressed. Especially when he was sucking next to the cat who had just watched the back and forth movement. So yes, it really sucks in a good way like a vacuum cleaner should, it's quiet, you can hear the phone ringing and it doesn't scare the cat. And my husband sucked.
