A big plus for me: no batteries
I bought it to measure fat bike tire pressure. I like the idea of not being battery dependent like digital sensors. And these skinny fellows are easy to hide in my tiny bike tool bag. I don't know how accurate they are as my 1 or 2 psi seems to be registering more than it should. But it's pretty consistent, so I can take that into account. You have to hold it up properly, which is sometimes difficult with gloves on in freezing weather; but I assume every sensor requires it.
