Review on Koonie Compressed Cordless Computer Keyboard Computer Accessories & Peripherals by Kevin Bigelow

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Wow. No more buying compressed air to clean my components.

Got a Koonie compressed air rag to clean some computer keyboards and an old case I have. I wasn't expecting much as many wireless devices don't have much power. This works fine. Opening the retail box reveals a vacuum, a blower attachment, a vacuum brush attachment, a manual, and a matching orange braided MicroUSB cable (nice touch). There is no suitcase to carry everything he really needs. The device has two modes (low and high) that are selected by pressing a single button on the device. Pressing it once starts the device in low mode, which takes a few seconds. Pressing the button again sets the high mode, which sounds like a small vacuum cleaner. Press again and the device will turn off. By lifting and folding in the attached nozzle, the device changes from blowing mode to suction mode. In fan mode, the performance of the device is quite high. It can't match the outlet of a compressed air tank, but it's close enough that you don't care - it also lacks that icy airflow that compressed air tanks have. There's a brush attachment that helps with brushing in blow mode, so it cleans better than just air. However, the vacuum mode doesn't have much power. Using a vacuum brush really helps and is great for cleaning keyboards, dust and other light items. However, this is not a spill and chain vacuum cleaner. However, for what it was designed for, it works. Charging the device initially took about half an hour, after full use it took much longer. I mainly used the device on high power, which lasted about 10 minutes; a good amount for the performance you get. My only major issue with the device is the location of the power connector. Since the device obviously takes up less space in the vertical position, the presence of a microUSB port on the bottom of the device complicates positioning. I keep mine on the edge of a table (desk port) where it's too easy to knock off, but it can be charged while standing. It really should be on the side of the device. All in all, I'm glad I took it. I clean a lot of old computer parts and this will make my job a lot easier. This is a recommendation. Considering alternatives, this is a competitive price.
