Had high hopes for this bubble wrap and unfortunately the bubble wrap is very thin, the entire envelope is the same thickness as a single layer of DUCK brand bubble wrap. Basically, half the size of a layer of bubble wrap on each side isn't very good protection. These bubble mailboxes are horribly thin compared to others I've bought from Amazon, but the real PE sleeve is very thick and much more durable. So if you're looking for a thicker PE case, this is a good choice, but not the best choice. as for soft protection. Maybe it was just my package but the bubbles were very deflated and many were completely deflated :( I already wrap my items in bubble wrap and then put them in soft plastic bags. I'm an Ebay seller and that's how I pack and ship all of my stuff is very important to me. Because the bubbles are so airtight, there's a lot more space between them than I'd like. I'd still use them if I could wrap my item in an extra layer of bubble wrap first. Unfortunately, by the items I ship and bought them for, I'm not sure the width would accommodate an extra layer of bubble wrap and then put it in a mailer of that size, but I'll try.
