Review on ⌚ Charles Hubert Paris 3780 W Mechanical Pocket Watch by David Elam

About a minute after unboxing I knew I would be returning it but at this point I regret not trusting my intuition after reading literally every review of the Revain pocket watch had read for Charles Hubert. .Start with the good. The movement is awesome. Photos and videos do not convey this. I am considering the Gotham GWC18800 as a replacement as the mechanism appears to be identical. This watch hasn't run a full day so especially without a second hand it's too early to tell if it's a good timer but it looks like it's running. Now about problems. The first thing I noticed was a large scratch on the top right corner of the strap. Also, the bottom half of the "MEC MOV” text is hidden under silver at the bottom of the white dial. The latch on the back moves, but prefers to tilt all the way to the right, so the back often opens before the front. When opened, the front cover wiggles more than we'd like, back and forth from left to right, which now sounds like a nitpick given the rest of the spend. on the inside of the front plastic cover. Forget it disrupting the mechanism when it comes loose - blocking the view of such a magnificent mechanism was the final straw. Maybe it's straw.
