I knew what I was buying and that it would suit my needs. I just bought a cheap supply of cords, connectors and terminals to use as I see fit. First I disassembled the kit. The alligator plugs are heavily crimped, but it took quite a bit of force to pull them out. The side of the banana mount is very poorly done, but I just fixed it myself. They are NOT good for loads of power, but once you figure it out I'm sure they can still be useful. They are light enough to repair yourself if necessary. The ends of the alligator clips should be soldered, and the ends of the banana-tipped wires should be at least tinned to make the connections more secure.
