This is a nice box as it conforms to the manufacturer's specifications. I received it as an extra backup of my data stored in my FreeNAS box. FreeNAS gives you some errors as a result of ORICO implementation, but it still works. See below: ugen4.2: <JMicron USB to ATA/ATAPI Bridge> at usbus4umass0 on uhub8umass0: <JMicron USB to ATA/ATAPI Bridge, class 0/0, rev 3.00/3.23, addr 1> on usbus4umass0: SCSI over Bulk - Only; quirks = 0x0100umass0:9:0: connected to scbus9da8 on umass-sim0 bus 0 scbus9 target 0 lun 0da8: <JMicron Generic DISK00 0103> Direct access fixed SCSI SPC-4 deviceda8: serial number 0123456789ABCDEF So forget about SMART tests and such. Also, as another reviewer mentioned, it's a bit slow for USB3 regardless of the RAID level setting. Either way, this is a really good box for what's made. The instructions suck, if you care.
