Review on πŸ’ˆ MEIJI Emperor Adjustable Safety Razor by VIKINGS BLADE by Dominique Patel

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Precise, durable, strong, smooth!

Emperor Meiji ruled Japan from 1867 to 1912. He is credited with leading Japan out of its isolationist, feudal past into the modern industrial age and making it a world power. called. With its craftsmanship, robust design, weight and color scheme, the Meiji Edition reflects this whole story. I especially love the vintage bronze and black raven colors and the unusual red ring on the handle. The red ring contrasts with the overall coloring of the razor and gives it a bit of Japanese elegance. (The red color in Japanese culture reflects the qualities of strength and passion. And if you have a passion for the traditional wet shave, this razor is for you!) If it's your first time picking up a razor, understand that a razor is built to last. Life. It is precise yet durable. The adjustment knob calibration is accurate and moves with firm smoothness. The "built like a tank" clichΓ© is used too often for items that don't deserve the moniker. But Meiji justifies this description. It's built like a tank, of course. Although this razor has a shorter handle than the original Vikings Blade Emperor razor, Meji still weighs a whopping 134 grams (4.72 ounces)! The overall length is 95 mm (3.71 inches), which is roughly the length of an old Gillette Super Speed razor. (For many wet razors, this is considered the ideal length/size.) But don't be fooled by its tiny size compared to other larger adjustable razors. The Meiji's weight combined with its smaller profile makes it an efficient and agile razor bulldog. The weight and weight of the razor does all the work while shaving. The shorter handle makes it even easier to navigate the contours of the face and neck. My first shave with Meiji Razor was great! I used a Vikings Soft Razor Blade and lathered it with Cella Shaving Soap (using a synthetic shaving brush). I did three passes. The first was at a setting of 6.5 (using both the molded and straight rod of a dual razor head). The second pass was at setting 5 (using the Formstrip during this pass). The third pass was at setting 2 for a light clean (using a straight strip throughout). The end result was a beautiful BBS shave! No nicknames. No cuts, no irritation! Meiji works great. I could feel the blade on every setting, but with a moderate efficiency that nullified any biting aggression. It's confident, but so smooth. The Meiji size is perfect for everyday use at home or as a travel razor! Although I recently bought a travel razor, I prefer to take Meiji with me now because it allows me to get any type of shave (from a gentle one to a close and effective one) in the blink of an eye. Meiji is a great addition to the Vikings line of blades. adjustable razors. While I enjoy using them all, with just three shaves, Meiji has quickly become a favorite. As with all Vikings Blade products, the presentation, design and packaging are first class! Given all of these qualities, Meiji is the perfect adjustable razor (and gift!) for the novice or experienced wet shaver!
