I bought this before my teenage grandchildren came to visit for a week. My desk is old but in great condition so I knew 4 teenagers could end up leaving soda cans and glasses with water condensing on the wood paneling. First I put a nice burgundy tablecloth on the table and then put a vinyl tablecloth on top. It worked like a dream and was so easy to clean. I didn't care if they dripped or spilled food. Which of them did it. So everything was fine. He looks great too. I wanted to take it off after they left but both my husband and I love the ease of cleaning and don't protect wood as thoroughly. I plan to buy a bigger one that will fit when I have 2 hands in the table.
