They are NOT leak proof

I tested a few by filling them with water and leaving them on their side and upside down for a day and nothing leaked. BUT when I put gel polish in them and traveled with them (the reason I bought them) they leaked all over and made a big mess.

Pros

Perfect for storing and organizing small cosmetics, such as lip balm, eye shadow, and glitter

Cons

The plastic can react with certain products and cause contamination
