Review on ๐Ÿฑ Churbly's Cat House and Scratcher for Indoor Cats - Durable Cardboard Hideaway Shelter with Triple-Sided Scratching Pads by Joi Thomas

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Best for mellow cats

Played with a friend who wanted a cat for her cat had, and my cat seemed to fall in love with her immediately. It's fairly easy to put together and I say that as someone who has little to no spatial thinking or visualization. Capabilities. Took me a little time but if you can assemble a simple IKEA item then you can assemble this without any problems. The reason this is a mediocre purchase for me is that my cat has done a lot of damage in just a short amount of time. He regularly takes it apart and scatters it around and I'm thinking of fixing this by supergluing part of the house to the base because it just sits there and if your cat plays roughly it won't stay. He also ripped the cardboard around the bottom so it could no longer stay folded. It's lightweight, so when your cat walks on it, the whole thing flies across the floor every time. I can't blame the product for these issues because I've looked into it knowing it's made of cardboard, but I was hoping it would hold up a little better. I love that it comes with interchangeable scrapers. I don't think it's worth $30 but I had a $10 gift card so for $20 it wasn't too bad. In the future, however, I will only buy cat furniture made from more durable materials. This would be great for calmer cats or maybe small kittens or old calm cats but it's not ideal for my feral boy. I'll keep using it until it literally falls apart and I don't think my former street cat cares if his house looks run down and falling apart.

Pros
  • Hassle-free assembly: With simple interlocking parts and an instruction manual that walks you through a four-step assembly process, you can easily assemble this cat shelter yourself with no tools
Cons
  • Low repairability
