Review on Senior Large Breed Chicken and Brown Rice Dry Dog Food by Blue Buffalo Life Protection Formula - Natural by Sandy Vaughn

I am very happy with Blue Buffalo dog food (especially the chicken and brown rice recipe for large breed and senior large breed dogs). I have a 72 lb black Labrador Retriever (very small for the breed but still "big") - He is 8 years old and EVERYONE thinks he is under 4. . . He walks like a puppy. . . Full of puppy energy and has a beautiful sheen to the coat; He actually looks purple when the sun shines on his fur. All these wonderful things have happened since he switched from other "premium" brands of dog food. At around $50 a pack, you might be tempted to go for a cheaper brand, but here's my personal take on the matter. 72 lbs, uses only 5 bags a year (that's only $250 a year!). . . . And here's why: the conversion rate of this meal is amazing! Cheaper products (which contain fillers and binders) produce a lot of stool. With Blue Buffalo I have found that my dog's poop is MUCH smaller (better conversion in the digestive tract) and his portions are very small as his body is actually USING more food rather than just passing it through. The stool is not soft and large. (You can tell a lot about your overall health by watching your dog's poop.) Bottom line: $50 a bag saves A LOT on my best friend's life by feeding him what I consider to be the best food. . The portions are so small that I actually feel guilty about giving him so little at mealtimes (this is because I see large portions when I feed less quality food). His body and mind are several years younger than the calendar shows. Saved money since I don't buy the "cheap" $25 dog food pack every month.
