The quality is good but the strap is needed.
I bought these boots in anticipation of a rainy spring/summer. My daughter fell in love with the boots straight away, they were easy to put on and she walked well in them. After using her less than 2 dozen times I noticed that she wanted to be picked up and her socks were constantly wet. We have a lot of Jan and Jul products so these boots are a disappointment. They should stand up to rainy summers and gardening, but we're now looking for a new pair.
