Great product at a great price. I just moved into a newly built house. There are 8 Cat5 outlets throughout the house but they left me with all the wires unmarked and no terminals. I bought this set hoping I can do the job myself. The kit included everything I knew I would need, but also everything I didn't need. Okay, so there's a bit of a learning curve and I didn't do well on the first two tries, but I learned quickly and all of the subsequent ones went great. Remote until I found an attached plug. Just. I even found that one of the connectors had a bad connection and I was able to use the "push tool" (the thing I mentioned without knowing what I would need) to fix it. I can only imagine how much money I saved by not hiring anyone to come in and do the job. Okay, here are my two tips. First do your best to completely straighten the twisted wires and place them evenly and as tightly as possible between your index finger and thumb, then cut across to make them PERFECTLY even. When you plug it into the connector, you should only feel a slight resistance. If you have to use force, something might not be aligned properly. Second, after crimping the connector firmly, when it is fully inserted into the tool, release the pressure just enough to EASILY pull the connector back out, and then apply the crimping force. again. The components of this kit, and even the case it comes in, feel premium. The tester is not just a continuity tester, it actually has some smart features built in and I would be willing to pay as much for it as I paid for the entire kit. Great price and great results.
