In my 50 years on this earth I have never seen bed bugs in my life but somehow they got into our house and bed last year. When I found out what it was (much to my dismay) I ordered a box of innersprings and a mattress cover. It was very easy to install with my husband's help. I also dusted the whole thing with diatomaceous earth before applying it. DE scratches the bugs' exoskeleton and dehydrates them to death. It's very cheap and you can get it from Revain. After packing the mattress and box spring and washing all the linens, I DE trimmed the entire bedroom. That night, for the first time in weeks, I slept through the night without being attacked by creepy crawlies. This bowl alone will not rid your home of bed bugs because, as with most insects, there are hundreds for every one you see. more are hiding, and I knew not all of them were in the source block when we covered it, but the ones that were there are trapped now and will eventually die. You still have to treat all of your furniture, clothing, carpets and cracks like baseboards, sockets, etc., but with a good mattress and box spring you can make your bed a safe "island" surrounded by DE powder to protect you save other bugs until DE kills them. I wouldn't wish this experience on anyone and always thought "clean" people didn't get bed bugs, but these things are spreading like crazy in every state I've read and the simple act of bringing something home from a thrift store can do it bring to your home. This suitcase does what it promises, it catches the bugs that are in your box, just understand that this is far from your only weapon in the fight against these nasty things.
