I washed it before wearing and had no problems. It's a lot thicker than other duvet covers I've bought so I've been very happy with the durability. It's nice and bright but I was disappointed that it doesn't look as rustic as the picture. On the left it looks pretty plain, there isn't really any writing like the picture and it has a pink tent on it which I think should give it a rustic look but it doesn't. To me, it's not rustic at all. But I love sunflowers and I still love the cover but it seems much simpler than what is pictured on Amazon. And it really did have king-size pillowcases. I just don't have king size pillows (planning to buy some) so I put a pillowcase inside the pillow. It's beautiful and comfortable. I wish it looked more rustic than just a pink tent. The laces inside that you can tie to your duvet are too short to even tie to keep them in place. Another thing, when I opened it, tracks were already coming out everywhere. But I like it, and if I have to sew a little corner, I'm fine. As long as those are the only minor issues and nothing else happens I would say it's not as bad a product as some people say. I really like that the sunflowers are big and bright and look realistic and not cartoon like so many others I looked at before settling on this one.
